How to play

Just a few “line” items to get you started.

First, what's a line?

A line, or spread, is how many points the favorite is expected to win by. If the Chiefs are favored over the Raiders by 6.5, the line is Chiefs −6.5: Kansas City has to win by 7 or more for a bet on them to cash. It's the number everybody argues about all week. Here, guessing that line blind is the game.

1. 1Guess blindNo peeking, and nobody peeks at you. The real line and everyone else's guess stay hidden until yours is locked in — on the Guess tab, on a friend's challenge, anywhere.
2. 2Call a side and a numberWho's favored, and by how much. Drag the slider until it feels right, or type it if you're sure of yourself. Season win totals skip the side — those just want a number of games.
3. 3Take the kickLock it in and watch it fly. Nail the number and you've drilled it straight through the uprights. Miss by a mile and it sails wide, and everyone gets to see that too. What counts as a make is below, and every kick you take shows up in Stats.
4. 4Live with itOne guess per game. No takebacks, no do-overs, no “I meant the other way.” You're scored against the line as it stood the second you guessed, so a line that moves later can't save you — or beat you.
5. 5Bring people into itShare any guess and it becomes a group anyone can join, no account needed. Play the full weekly NFL slate and you're going head to head with Bill and Sal themselves — their guesses land Monday, so you get a whole weekend to feel good about yours. What counts as a make

How far off you can be and still put it through the uprights. College spreads run far bigger than NFL ones, so college gets three times the room.

Back the wrong favorite and it's no good however close the number was. Win totals are scored in wins, and they stay out of your points-based stats: different game, different scale.
